[2025 Iskandar Puteri Hotels] Travel Guide for Sunway Hotel Big Box (Updated Jul)

We went to JB during the May 2023 school holiday. Always want to bring kids to Energy X park, and so we booked Sunway Big Box hotel for one night stay. End up the hotel stay is wonderful, we booked king deluxe, can sleep 4 pax. The sofa can be converted into a bed, just request for extra bedsheet and blanket will do. My kids are teenagers (two boys), they enjoyed the Energy X park very much. Will definitely come again, highly recommend! Getting There - Grab (from JB custom to hotel) Attractions - Energy X Park Hotels - Sunway Big Box hotel Food & Restaurants - Can try the Korean food (Dong Seoul) at Eco Botanic, highly recommend! Shopping - Can shop at nearby Sunway Big Box Retail Park Impt tip - You can book free trpt to Eco Botanic at the hotel, just check with hotel reception. Getting There - Drive to Sunway Big Box Nusajaya. Takes around 40 minutes from Johor Bharu City Centre Attractions - The wide view of books from toe to top is definitely stunning Location - The book shop is located in a shopping mall. There are a lot of branded outlets and nice restaurants inside the building Check out this big box at Nusajaya Book Xcess, Johor. Numerous books can be found here ranging from all genres with affordable prices. Highly recommended for bookworms. You can stay here all day to look and read your favourite books. For ootd’ers, fret not, the book shop is also very instagrammable 😆

From tuas checkpoint, it barely less than 30 mins to reach to iskandar putri area. Staying at the big box hotel is really great! The eateries, malls and supermarkets are interlinked to the hotel! Great to spend time with family

We stayed at Sunway Hotel Big Box for two nights while visiting LEGOLAND and had a fantastic experience. We booked the 32m² Deluxe Plus King Room (1 King Bed and 1 Sofa Bed) on the 9th floor. The spacious King Bed was comfortable enough for three people, and the view from our room was lovely. Here’s what we loved: 👍Fast check-in — smooth and efficient. 👍Secure luggage storage — gave us peace of mind. 👍Clean and tidy room — everything was well-maintained. 👍Birthday surprise — the staff surprised my son with a mini cake delivered to our room to celebrate his birthday. A very thoughtful gesture! 👍Water convenience — the room came with two bottles, and there was a water dispenser near the elevator, which made refills easy. 👍Great location — restaurants, a supermarket, and the BookXcess bookstore are just nearby. Take the escalator next to the hotel to easily access a cinema across the way. Overall, this hotel made our LEGOLAND trip even more enjoyable. 2nd time at this hotel. love it very much as there are amenities around. things to buy, food to eat and places to shop. Definitely a very reasonable price to stay. 10 mins drive down to Legoland only. Nice view. Nice place There is shopping mall and restaurant at near by but they close at 10pm… After that can go hotel level 1 for live band. Nothing much at night

Great stay at sunway big box hotel, johor!

New and clean hotel which is near Legoland Malaysia. Great for family with kids as it’s connected to a retail mall. Nice food at Loon Sing Seafood Restaurant, Kopi White House and Absolute Thai. Hotel breakfast buffet is not worth RM40 per pax and please book Legoland shuttle service in advance if you are staying here. Overall it’s was a good trip. Thank you. #sunwaybigboxhotel

My family and I stayed at Sunway hotel big box recently and we were pleasantly surprised! Check in was a breeze and we were allowed to check in earlier (before 3pm). The rooms were super clean and well-maintained. Location was great! It is surrounded by a mall and a supermarket. We also went Go Karting which was a 5 minutes walking distance.

We had fun at Sunway Big Box Hotel. Room was nice and clean and pretty spacious. The mall attached also has pretty decent amenities. The family enjoyed book xcess and the kid-friendly cinema! NSK beside is also huge if you want to get groceries as well. Good experience overall. Will come back again with family and friends in future to explore more places around the area.

Sunway Hotel Big Box is one of the most underrated hotels in JB in my opinion. As is it located away from the city center and closer to Legoland, it may not be as popular amongst Singaporeans unless going to Legoland. However, it is definitely one of the best hotels I have stayed in JB and let me tell you why. We booked this hotel as we were heading to Legoland and it’s close proximity was a huge plus point. The hotel itself is clean, new and very comfortable. We booked the family suite which has a seperate living area with a sofa bed, kitchenette, large king sized bed and two bathrooms. The space was huge and very value for money. The staff were so friendly and helpful and any requests were answered within a couple minutes. We couldn’t ask for more. Our stay came with breakfast included and it was high quality. Food were fresh and delicious. Eggs were extremely fresh too that you can eat them partially cooked. The highlight of the hotel is their infinity pool where our kids spent hours at. We booked via Trip.com and had a great price. All in all, a fantastic trip and we would come back over and over again. #tripblazers
