If you are addicted or crazy about matcha!! This shop is the place to visit! Suzukien Asakusa serve different degree of the matcha icecream, based on the flavour intensity! We get a 2 scoops Combination of the strongest matcha and Hojicha! The strongest matcha tasted bit bitter but it’s so so so smoothly and the hojicha flavour is rich with tea scent! Both flavour are really nice, strongly recommend! The downside will be, sometimes the queue is quite long. Our experience is the queue was long but it move quite fast! Don’t miss this shop if you visit Asakusa Shrine, it just minutes walk from it. #meettokyo

My trip has been started on 23 May until 3 June. This is the longest trip I ever had in Japan. We are so lucky that the weather is so nice. Not too hot and not too cold. We only got the rain in the last day. This time I visited 3 cities, which I started from Tokyo for 5 days. We have visited tourist spots. Everywhere looks so crowded. But I found a good gem in Tokyo. It is called Shibamata. It is kind of traditional Japanese village style. You can enjoy the shrine along with beautiful Japanese gardens. I spent a whole day there. Next, we went to Osaka for 4 days. We really enjoy the food there. And the price is a lot cheaper than Tokyo. And the last stop is Kyoto, we stay there for 3 days. For those who are matcha lovers in Asakusa, the recommended shop that you should not miss is Suzukien Asakusa. They have matcha ice cream with a choice of intensity levels from 1-7. There are also other flavors of ice cream, such as hojicha, strawberry, etc. The ice cream itself is gelato, smooth, dense, and very chewy. It's so delicious that you'll want to go back for more. They have both cones and cups, and you can choose to eat one or two scoops. There are no tables in the shop, but there are chairs to sit and eat, or you can eat outside the shop. Lin came to visit in February, which was Valentine's Day. So the shop had a special menu to choose from, which was red bean mochi topped with strawberries. It was delicious! 💖 When Lin went in 2022, the shop had just moved to another location not far from the temple. The ice cream has seven levels of green tea intensity to choose from. That is "Suzukien Asakusa" 🍵 In addition to green tea ice cream, there is also green tea matcha juice (with a roasted rice flavor). In the shop, you can order ice cream on the first floor and eat it on the second floor. Or if you want to buy tea brewing equipment or tea leaves, they are also available here. This traditional Matcha house that is specialised in Matcha ice cream and drinks have been trending everywhere online, we know we have to give it a shot while wandering around Asakusa town. It’s called Suzukien, a small tea house that is famous for its strongest Matcha flavour. It was a long queue under the hot sun, we queued for nearly 45 minutes for our turn to go inside the shop, and there is another 15 minutes queueing time inside until our turn to order. So be sure to have the biggest patience in the world because it’s worth it! While waiting outside, we can enjoy the view of the amazing Skytree tower at our sight. The counter staff were very friendly, recommending foreign tourists on the orders and explaining nicely. The pure Matcha flavours consisted of level 1 to level 6 of Matcha strength, with 6 being the highest and most concentrated. We got a double scoop (Level 6 and Level 7). The level 6 is quite rich and balanced, we love it a lot and it’s a recommended level for adults. The level 7 has a bit of dry feeling to the mouth and very concentrated, it’s bitter but I personally think it’s quite delicious too. Other than that, we also got their signature Matcha drink that so far it’s the best Matcha drink that we ever tried in our Japan trip. If you are planning to travel to Asakusa, please do not miss this amazing place and a must-go especially for Matcha lovers!
