Taiwan Temple of Martial Arts
#2024TravelReview
The Taiwan Sidianwu Temple, commonly known as the Great Guandi Temple, was first built in the 19th year of the Yongli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1665 AD). In the 19th year of the Yongli reign, Zheng Chenggong's son Zheng Jing built temples for Wen, Wu, Zhenwu and Chenghuang in Chengtian Prefecture. The Wu Temple is today's Sidian Wu Temple, located in the south of Chihkan Tower and was expanded from the Guandi Hall. The plaque "Real Man" at the Temple of Martial Arts comes from the ancient sage Mencius: "Wealth and honor cannot corrupt, poverty and humbleness cannot move, power and force cannot bend; this is what a real man is", which points out the demeanor of a real man.
