📍 Tomioka Hachiman Shrine (Fukagawa Hachiman) After arriving at the Blue Bottle Coffee in Kiyosumi Shirakawa, we decided to take a leisurely walk around the area. Unexpectedly, we found ourselves at Tomioka Hachiman Shrine. Tomioka Hachiman Shrine is the largest Hachiman Shrine in Tokyo. It also hosts the Fukagawa Hachiman Festival in August, which is one of the three major festivals of Edo! Like other Japanese shrines, it is very clean, serene, and elegant. Passing by a Japanese shrine always brings a sense of calm and relaxation! It's very leisurely! If you don't want to walk that far, you can also take the Oedo Line and get off at Monzen-Nakacho Station!

This restaurant is run by a tuna wholesaler 💁 It's in Kiba (Monzen-Nakacho)! They only serve tuna bowls on Sundays! (On weekdays they serve set meals) They open at 11:00, but if you go about an hour before and line up you'll get a numbered ticket, which you can get and then come back at the estimated time written on it. There are several types of tuna bowls to choose from, but since I was there I ordered the one with the most different parts of the tuna on top! As you can see, it's full of tuna! The tuna is so fatty...! It's in a bit of a remote location, but it's worth going! Because of its location in Monzen-Nakacho, there are many shops in the surrounding area that have the atmosphere of Tokyo's downtown area, so you can enjoy those as well. Tokuju Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 Tokuju Shrine is located in Botan, Koto Ward. It is an external sub-shrine of Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine, which is about a 13-minute walk away. The statue of Inari Okami washed up in a canal in the tenement house of the Takatsu family, who founded the dried bonito specialty store Ninben. It is said that Tokuju Shrine began when the people of the tenement house began to worship it. It is now an external sub-shrine, having been donated to Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine. The Oyoko River is right nearby. We passed through there to reach the shrine. It is located between a private residence and a private house, and there are torii gates on both sides so that you can enter from either side. The Fukagawa/Monzen-Nakacho area is close to the city center, but still retains a downtown atmosphere. With shopping streets and historical sites, it is a recommended town for strolling and sightseeing. The nearest station is Monzen-Nakacho Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, a 3-minute walk from Exit 1. It is also a 6-minute walk from Monzen-Nakacho Station on the Toei Subway Oedo Line, and a 15-minute walk from Etchujima Station on the JR Keiyo Line.

Established almost 400 years ago in 1627, this shrine received cordial protection from the Tokogawa shogunate. In 1900, there is a stone monument being erected to commemorate the succesive yokozuna, named Yokozuna Rikishi-hi, built by Jinmaku Kyugoro. Today, it is named one of the 10 important shrine in Tokyo (Tokyo Jissha).
