Dining with family at Tuck Kee Restaurant in Ipoh was nothing short of a memorable culinary experience. Known for its authentic Cantonese cuisine, the restaurant lived up to its reputation with a warm, inviting atmosphere and a menu that offered both tradition and innovation.
We began our meal with the Braised Shark Fin with Crabmeat Soup, a luxurious starter that was rich in flavour and generously packed with crabmeat. It set the tone for a truly indulgent evening.
The highlight of the dinner was undeniably the Roasted Duck and Smoked Duck — both signature dishes that showcased the chef’s mastery in preparation and seasoning. The Roasted Duck had crispy skin with tender, juicy meat, while the Smoked Duck offered a deeper, aromatic flavor with a perfect balance of smokiness.
The House Special Pork Belly was a family favorite, succulent, melt-in-your-mouth layers of meat and fat, braised to perfection and full of umami. Equally impressive was the Homemade Tofu with Mushroom, a delicate dish with silky tofu and earthy mushrooms in a savory gravy that paired wonderfully with white rice.
Seafood lovers in our group especially appreciated the Steamed Seabass with Spicy Bean Paste. The fish was fresh, flaky, flavourful and steamed just right, with the spicy bean paste sauce giving it a kick without overpowering the natural sweetness of the seabass.
To round off the meal, we enjoyed their famed Tuck Kee Noodles: springy, flavourful noodles stir-fried to golden perfection. It's a must-try and a testament to why this dish carries the restaurant’s name.
The Service was attentive and efficient, and the ambiance was family-friendly, making it an ideal spot for gatherings or special occasions.
