Popular Seoul Bakery with Stuffed Breads - Expect at Least 1 Hour Wait
Ugly Bakery
Located right next to the main entrance of Mangwon Market, this small shop is famous for its stuffed cream breads and mammoth bread, made with impressive ingredients! 😋 The shop opens at 12 PM, but by 11:15 AM, there’s already a long queue. This time, I bought three types of bread:
1. Earl Grey Cream Bread
A bit on the sweeter side, but the Earl Grey flavor is rich and satisfying. Every bite is filled with cream, and the cream is mixed with plenty of Earl Grey tea leaves.
2. Matcha Ganache Cream Bread
This one was unexpectedly delicious! The matcha used is of high quality, with a strong and authentic flavor. It’s not overly sweet, and beneath the cream, there’s a layer of red bean paste, making it relatively light. Out of the three, this is the most recommended.
3. Cheese Mammoth Bread
This bread is hefty and substantial. The outer layer consists of two firm slices of bread, and inside, there’s cheese. The cheese ganache in the middle has a salty and savory taste, combined with white chocolate, cheese cookie crumbs, and crushed peanuts. The multiple textures explode in your mouth. However, the layers might feel a bit overwhelming and rich, so it’s best to share this one with others.
If you have time, it’s definitely worth lining up to try!
