Sculpture park in the city center
■ Location & Directions
After getting off at Daeyeon Station on Busan Subway Line 2, I walked for about 10 minutes and saw the entrance to the UN Memorial Park. The signs and directions were well-organized, so I was able to enter the sculpture park without getting lost.
■ Park atmosphere
Perhaps because it was a summer afternoon, there were many shaded areas in the park, and the green trees and grass made it feel cool even in the city. There were more sculptures on display than I thought, and each had its own unique look, so it was fun to discover them one by one while walking. There were benches here and there, so it was nice to sit down and rest for a while.
■ I liked this! - Thanks to the quiet atmosphere, it was nice to walk while quietly appreciating the works
- The surroundings of the walking path were well-landscaped and there was a lot of shade, so it was comfortable even in the hot weather
- Each piece had its own meaning, so the walk was not boring
- The entire park was neatly managed, so the cleanliness was impressive
■ Disappointing points
- Some sculptures were displayed without guide signs, so the explanations were disappointing
- The water fountains were far away, and there were no stores, so you had to prepare water in advance
- There were times when you could hear noise from nearby roads, so it was not completely the quiet of nature
■ Visiting tips
- If you visit in the late afternoon in the summer, there will be less sunlight and it will be more comfortable to walk
- Sneakers are a must if you want a long walk
- It is recommended to take pictures of every corner of the works with your phone or camera, so it is good for leaving a lifetime shot
