Vasconcelos Library & Museo Soumaya
Mexican food, a guitar-playing mustachioed man (wearing a wide straw hat), Aztec civilization, and other powerful and unique images!
Those are the things that naturally come to mind when you think of Mexico, but while traveling, I discovered another charm of Mexico.
Mexico still has its own unique character and traditional appearance everywhere,
but on the other hand, it is modern and perhaps shows off a sophistication that was ahead of its time!
The library above is said to have become famous as the Interstellar Library. When I actually saw it, my mouth dropped open at its size and beauty...
While looking around the library, I thought that Mexico's future couldn't help but be bright.
The will and opinions of countless Mexicans must have come together to build such a large and beautiful library, and I thought that the great will of existing Mexicans would be passed down to future generations through a semi-permanent building called a library.
In this context, I think a library is a building that can show a country's cultural level and future.
There are various attempts related to reading in Korea, such as Byeolmadang Library and Gwanghwamun Book Yard, and I think it's great.
The last photo is the exterior of the museum, which I took because it was pretty. The interior of the museum is also pretty. The interior walls are all white, and you can walk up from the 1st floor to the 5th floor (I think it was the 6th floor.. I remember correctly..). This was my first time at an museum of this scale and structure, so it was really different. I think museums, like libraries, are important standards. Mexico is the city of art!!
