The ingredients are fresh, and there are types of seafood that are only available in KK, such as Geoduck clams, Sapak, giant Mantis prawn, palm size Tiger Prawn, lobsters and many more. Our first meal there delighted us with the flavors of seafood. I highly recommend trying the deep fried soft shell crab, creamy butter tiger prawns, and stir-fry ginger onion Geoduck clams. A busy place and one of tourists' favourite spots. Fresh seafood and great taste with a reasonable pricing! All the food ordered tasted good and portion given was satisfying. When I took a taxi or asked the hotel staff if they had any recommended restaurants, this restaurant always came up, so it's a local restaurant loved by the locals. When I actually went there, it was a very local restaurant🍽 It was empty early at 5pm, but after 6pm, locals started to gather and I had to wait inside the restaurant for about 20 minutes. I recommend going early! ︎ The menu is only on the signboard, and you order in order when you enter the restaurant. Here, too, there is only the signboard menu and no menu, which made me feel like it was local😂 When I asked for a recommendation, I got the boiled shrimp with wet butter sauce and crab. I got the impression that every table was ordering crab and shrimp, and when I actually ordered it, it was rich in flavor and delicious. AirAsia round-trip from Shanghai Pudong to Kota Kinabalu for CNY 1,383. The flight from Shanghai takes a little over 4 hours. If you take a red-eye flight, you can see the sunrise. If you want to see the sunrise, you can choose a seat on the left side of the plane. ❗️AirAsia does not include checked baggage. Each person is limited to 7 kg. When we departed from Pudong, we each had a backpack, so we didn't weigh our bags. On the return trip, they weighed our bags at the boarding gate. If you don't plan to check your bags, you should consider the weight of your luggage. It's best to leave some space for souvenirs. 🌀Accommodation We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, which cost about CNY 1,200 for two nights. The hotel upgraded us to an executive suite. You can call to make a reservation. It cost CNY 560 for six people, but the owner gave us a discount and only charged us CNY 500. You can tell the staff if you want a soft or hard massage. 🌀Dining 👉🏻Tea Live I did a little research, but not much, so I only had one cup of Tea Live. We each ordered a cup, and overall, they were all on the sweet side. We ordered fried rice and fried noodles as the main courses. The fried rice was very fragrant, and the rice wasn't too dry. The fried rice and fried noodles both contained small octopus and shrimp. 👉🏻Philippines Market We went to the Philippines Market and bought longan and durian. Longan was MYR 5/kg. We only wanted to buy five to try, but the vendor grabbed five for us to eat, so we felt embarrassed and bought MYR 5 worth. Luckily, we bought more, because everyone thought they were delicious. They were soft and chewy, juicy, and sweet and sour without being too greasy. Durian was MYR 25/kg. The small durian we bought on Gaya Street the night before wasn't enough, and the big durian was a little overripe. The durian we bought at the Philippines Market had a thin skin and a high flesh yield. 👉🏻Hong Kim Hotel We ordered sweet and sour pork, soy sauce chicken, beef, and spicy shrimp. As Kota Kinabalu faces the South China Sea, Kota Kinabalu is indeed a place with rich source of seafood. The restaurant is a favourite for both locals and tourists alike! We were lucky that there wasn’t much crowd during our visit! With both outdoor and indoor seatings and tables, this restaurant is able to accommodate larger groups of diners. The seafood we ordered was fresh, well cooked, great portion for 6! Prices were affordable too! I wish to travel to Hong Kong for the food!

Kota Kinabalu was no exception, and when I searched for #Kota Kinabalu restaurants, the place that caught my eye the most was #WelcomeSeafoodRestaurnat. So I went there with high expectations, but the scale was different. The huge single-story building was filled with tables and people everywhere, and the ordering process was unique, where you had to go to the counter and tell them your table number and tell them what you wanted to eat. It was a bit of a hassle, and the atmosphere was so noisy that I couldn't help but smile and focus on the food after the food came out. It was so delicious that I dare say it's the best restaurant in Kota Kinabalu. This is a seafood restaurant in Kota Kinabalu where you can taste a variety of seafood at a reasonable price. I couldn't try everything, but the representative dishes in the photos are all excellent. It's too bad that the squid was sold out. It's a well-known place, so the Grab driver will find it and drop you off.
