Visited the amazing Wieliczka salt mines during our time in Krakow! We learnt so much about its history from our guide, and were amazed by the complex and beautiful salt sculptures all over. We were also very impressed that the miners even built their own chapels inside! I came, I salt, I found. A brilliant trip when visiting Poland. Easy trip on the train from krakow main station to the end of the line. A tour guide takes you round in 2 hours with some breathtaking things to see. Getting There - the salt mine is possible to reach by bus and train, require some transit, and need to walk for a few mins to reach the salt mine. Private vehicle would be a good idea and much more preferred Attractions - See the wonders of the salt canvern, carved for its rich salt deposit and the carved salt sculpture, and many more Food & Restaurants - food down in the salt mine was okay, but you cannot bring outside food down there Shopping - buy some salt!

The Wieliczka Salt Mine is located near Krakow, about a 20-minute train ride from the city center. Tickets can be purchased directly from the staff on the train or at ticket machines, making it very simple and convenient. There are two routes for visiting the salt mine: the Tourist Route and the Miners' Route. Each route takes about 3 hours. Since I was very interested in both routes, I decided to take the Tourist Route in the morning, have lunch at the underground salt mine restaurant, and then experience being a miner in the afternoon. It was a full day of in-depth exploration of the salt mine. The entire tour is guided, and although there are many stairs to climb, the interior of the salt mine is truly exquisite. The highlight of the Tourist Route, St. Kinga's Chapel, is absolutely stunning! It's amazing! The only downside is that there are too many tourists, and the visit time is limited. It would be better if we could stay a bit longer! The miner experience is also very interesting. The guide's explanations are very detailed, and there are various small activities that make participants feel more like real miners. It's definitely worth experiencing. This is definitely one of the must-visit attractions when traveling to Krakow!
