Staying at the right hotel turns Suzhou's dawn and dusk into private poetry
This Suzhou hotel stay was like unboxing a hidden gem! On the very first day, I told my friends, "Thank goodness I booked three nights!" 😭
The location is absolutely perfect 👍🏻. Right next to the hotel is the city moat, with Guanqian Street, Shantang Street, Pingjiang Road, Suzhou Museum, and the Humble Administrator's Garden all within a 10-minute reach! Every morning, I'd lazily get up and stroll to the Humble Administrator's Garden just as it opened. In the evening, after enjoying the night views at Shantang Street, I'd wander back along the food street—packed with must-try spots! Returning to the hotel for an iced drink was pure bliss.
The room's floor-to-ceiling windows framed the street views like paintings. Morning sunlight spilled across the King Koil mattress, making it feel like sinking into clouds. The little touches were the most delightful surprises: not just a Dyson hairdryer, but also free Coca-Cola and Sprite in the mini fridge, and even one-touch fogging for the bathroom glass—so thoughtful, hhh.
When I arrived by high-speed rail, I tried booking a pickup service, and there was actually a business car waiting at the exit. The joy of dragging a 28-inch suitcase without hunting for the subway—who can relate? Free parking 🅿️, afternoon tea 🫖, and the cherry on top: free rides on adorable Strawberry Bear e-bikes! While exploring Pingjiang Road, three girls chased me down to ask where I rented it.
Now, as I pack my bags, I can't help but sigh—why didn't I stay longer? Next time I'm in Suzhou, this hotel is locked in!
