[2025 Yesan-gun Attraction] Travel Guide for Yedang Lake (Updated Jul)

Budget tourism is very good. It is convenient to get off at the terminal, rent a Socar, and then go back. Taxi travel costs a lot. For accommodation, you can stay at a motel near the Yesan market.

Yedangho Suspension Bridge opened on April 6, 2019 as the longest suspension bridge in Korea with the length of 402 meters. With the addition of Slow Lake Road in October of the same year, visitors can now enjoy the beautiful scenery even more. There is a sculpture park around the lake, standing in harmony with the white suspension bridge. A grand musical fountain was installed on April 25, 2020. The fountain is the widest in the nation, and shoots jets of water up 110 meters into the air. The fountain show lasts for 20 minutes, and uses bightly colored LED lights for an exciting performance.

#falltrip Yedang Reservoir was built in 1962 to provide water for irrigating farms around Yesan and drinking water for citizens. With a circumference of 40km, it is one of the largest lakes in Korea. It derives its name from combining the names of two nearby cities: Yesan and Dangjin. Now it is considered one of the hot spots in Yesan as there has been a lot of investment in making the Northern part of the lake into a tourist destination. The 402m pedestrian suspension bridge (built in 2019) is the main attraction, but the sculpture park and cafes are also a draw.

I went on a 2-day, 1-night trip to Yesan, South Chungcheong Province. When I came in the fall, the green mountains and trees, reservoirs, and blue skies were really pretty!! I rode the monorail with the kids, and it wasn't fast, so it was okay.
