Three days and two nights tour of Tachuan and Hongcun
Departing from Nanjing, we arrived at the accommodation at two and a half. The hotel we booked gave us two tickets to the Tachuan scenic area. We set off from the hotel at three and a half and arrived in ten minutes. I still remember when I came here many years ago, I could stop and take photos whenever I saw beautiful scenery while driving along the road. Now there are many electronic eyes along the road, so we must not be careless. When there are many people and cars, there is no place to park. If there is a parking space, you must read the small sign next to it clearly. You need to pay, but fortunately it is not expensive, ten yuan at a time.
I felt a bit regretful when I checked in. I felt that I came at the wrong time. The cosmos flowers had already withered, and the small sunflowers were also wilting. The expected red, orange, yellow and green were not many, and the leaves had not completely changed color. Under the setting sun, I could only take a few photos reluctantly.
Tachuan's autumn scenery has long been famous. It is a charming mountain village with unique characteristics. Under the setting sun, the houses with flying eaves and corners are built against the mountain, which are well-arranged. Every autumn, the village and the planted Chinese tallow trees around it, the leaves gradually change from green to yellow, red, purple, and orange, which are colorful and beautiful.
The next morning, the thin fog had already dissipated. We drove to Hongcun for a tour. Because it is free to make an appointment to go in on Wednesday, there is a QR code on site that can be directly exchanged. If you can't operate it, there are volunteers to help.
Hongcun has a long history. Located in Yi County, Anhui Province, it was built during the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty and has a history of about 900 years. The entire village is built by mountains and rivers, surrounded by water on three sides. The design of the water system in the village is very delicate. It adopts the biomimetic 'ox' layout and has a unique architectural style. Most of the buildings in Hongcun are Hui-style buildings with white walls and black tiles, and most of them are built along the lake, with a deep cultural heritage, including Nanhu Academy, Yuezhao, Lexu Hall, etc. There are many students sketching here, standing quietly on the side, only hearing the rustling sound of the pen on the paper, the traces of history are presented. There are also local villagers living here, you can see their dried taro, lotus root powder, pickles, etc., the life atmosphere is strong.
In the afternoon, we went to Lucun. Although it is also free on Wednesday, it is much smaller than Hongcun and there are not many tourists. If it weren't for the free ticket, I guess the fifty yuan ticket is really not worth it. Of course, if you have booked a homestay in the village, the boss can take you in for twenty-five yuan. The whole village takes about an hour to visit.
