I visited poet Yun Dong-ju's hometown, Yongjeong birthplace

If you want to spend some quiet time while traveling in China,
I would like to recommend Yun DongJu's birthplace in the autonomous prefecture.
It is located in Yongjeong, an autonomous prefecture of the Korean ethnic group,
and in a quiet rural village-like atmosphere,
it felt like the poet Yun DongJu's life and poetry remained intact.
The birthplace looks like a very simple hanok from the outside,
but the moment you stand in front of the house and look at the door, you get a strange feeling.
It's like you're briefly entering the time of the poet who wrote 'Sky, Wind, Stars, and Poetry'.
The interior of the house is relatively simple,
but the desk where he sat and studied and the small space where he wrote poetry have been completely restored,
making it a place that leaves a short but deep impression.
The writing utensils on the desk, copies of handwritten poems,
and each poem displayed on the wall fill the space.
There is also the Yun Dong-ju Literature Museum right next door,
where you can appreciate the poet's representative works along with exhibits documenting his short life.
It is not large in scale,
but it is a place where you can look around calmly.
Rather than heavy emotions,
it is a space where you can feel quiet empathy and resonance, thinking, 'He wrote poetry in this place.'
It is not easy to get here on purpose,
but I think it is worth stopping by if you go to Yeongil or Yongjeong.
✔️ Tip: Admission to the birthplace is free, and nearby is Myeongdong School, where Yun Dong-ju attended.
✔️ Transportation: It takes about 40 minutes by car from Yeongil (Didi or car rental recommended)
