Deqing | Hiking in Moganshan: Where Nature's Wild Charm and Cultural Romance Collide
Mountains⛰️, bamboo forests🎋, clear springs🌊, homestays🏨, bookstores, coffee☕️, leisure, poetry🌿... Perhaps only the sum of all these can truly depict the essence of Moganshan.
According to the "Deqing County Annals"📝, Moganshan boasts over 200 distinctive villas🏡 scattered across its peaks. Here you'll find classical architecture alongside modern high-rises, countryside-style villas mingling with castle-like mountain resorts🏰.
In this land, the scenery that locals take for granted has astonished countless outsiders who stumbled upon it by chance. Many have since transformed into free spirits, venturing deep into the forests🌳 to experience the unique mountain lifestyle, even selling their way of life to others.
Since then, more people come here seeking to escape rigid and tedious routines—not just to find an uncrowded village or an elevator-free cottage🛖 where they can stay, overlook valleys, and savor mountain flavors, but to immerse themselves in Moganshan's natural playground.
Numerous cycling🚲 and hiking🚶♀️ routes have been discovered here. This time, let's explore in the name of hiking.
Starting from Yucun Square, the trail winds through bamboo forests and ancient paths, ascending stone steps. Passing by Jianchi Pool, Ancient Wangwutai Platform, Luhuadang Park, and Naked Castle, then returning to the mountain foot—the entire route spans about 10km.
