Ziyang City Museum is so beautiful.
The first impression of Ziyang City Museum is its main building.
I once saw someone online saying it looked like the hairpin worn by "Da Ru" in Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace. Two days later, I saw someone saying it was a boat bow. There was also a debate saying that it was clearly a cup of gaiwan tea, or a cupcake.
There are four exhibition halls in Ziyang Museum, among which four treasures particularly impressed YOU:
(From a human skull fossil dating back about 30,000 to 40,000 years ago)
It is the first ancient human fossil discovered after the founding of the People's Republic of China, and also the first late Homo sapiens skull fossil with a clear location and relatively complete preservation found in southern my country. According to the place of discovery, it was named "Ziyang Man".
The first chariot in the Han Dynasty
The Han Dynasty Bronze Chariot and Horses is the famous treasure of the Zibo Museum and is known as "the first chariot of the Han Dynasty in China." Among the Han Dynasty chariots and horses unearthed so far, this one is the earliest, the largest, the most complex in structure, and the most exquisitely made. Please forgive me for using a lot of "most" here, because it is really too beautiful.
Purple Bamboo Guanyin Statue
The crown of Guanyin, the eyes of Bodhisattva, the brim of the clerk's hat, the form of Sakyamuni, the knot of the warrior's robe... and behind them is a replica of the reclining Buddha from Anyue.
The Purple Bamboo Guanyin statue is located in Cave No. 19 of Pilu Cave. As a rare Northern Song Dynasty stone carving art treasure in the country, it not only has a beautiful appearance, but also the crown on its head and the gauze dress on its body are praised by people. Perhaps because of this, it is hailed as the "Oriental Venus".
The statue in the exhibition hall was restored 1:1 with 3D printing technology according to the Purple Bamboo Guanyin statue. It can be said to be the "Oriental Venus".
Bas-relief stone carving
There is a Azure Dragon on the left and a White Tiger on the right. The little paws of these two mythical beasts are grabbing wealth in one hand and treasure in the other. I have taken a picture of it as a screensaver. This pair of treasures is from the Southern Song Dynasty and was unearthed in Songlin Village, Nanjin Town, Ziyang in 2019. It can be said to be very fresh cultural relics. Its neighbors are a pair of warrior stone carvings unearthed in the same period, which are also very exquisite.
Compared with those super large museums, the number of cultural relics on display in the Capital Museum is not particularly large, but the emphasis is on quality. I sincerely recommend that friends who arrive in Ziyang leave some time for the museum.
