Reykjavik Kitchen The first meal after getting off the plane was at one of the top three restaurants in Lei City, the capital. The restaurant is just across the street from the hotel. The whole street was deserted on the day I went to eat. But the restaurant is full. The most amazing Icelandic food I have ever eaten I have tried other Icelandic dishes since then, but this one is not as good as the other. The potato and vegetable combination is very much to my taste So I chose it as my top one Icelandic restaurant. How can you not order soup when you come to a foreign country? The seafood soup base has the aroma of lobster soup There is also fish with black garlic oil, which is very sweet and delicious The appetizer was salmon platter. In the second year of chasing the aurora, I finally saw the aurora explosion in Iceland Last winter, it was a week of stormy weather in the Lofoten Islands. Although it was also a big aurora explosion, there was no shadow of the aurora at all Before setting off this time, I checked the weather in Iceland and it was going to be rainy for a series of days. The aurora tours I had signed up for 6 days in a row were all cancelled, so I had no hope anymore. But on the 20th, the weather in Reykjavik suddenly cleared up and the aurora tour was organized. Reasonable price, nice staff, offer breakfast. 💡 Tips: + Day tour is long so choose breakfast option at the hotel to save time. Time to have lunch is short because many places to see, so bring lunch/sanwich/snack with you (you can enjoy good food in the evening). + You should spend longer time, visiting ice-cave, diamond beaches, etc…5 days were quite short, need more time to discover Iceland. + Tour and pricing were quite expensive but they worths every cent. Svarta Kaffio🍞🥣 📍Laugavegi 54\101 There are mutton/beef soup and vegetable soup priced at about NT$800/HKD 200. Rainbow Street🌈 is one of the must-see attractions in Reykjavík (P3-P5). With the colorful little houses on the street, it feels like being in a fairy tale world. But Rainbow Street is not as long as expected. There are many souvenir shops in that short stretch. At the end of Rainbow Street is Hallgrim Cathedral (P5). Entry to the church is free, and the viewing platform ticket is free. It's 1000 kroner for adults. Tjörnin also goes to Swan Lake when the sun is shining. You can see scenes from the fairy tale world and you will definitely not be disappointed. As an animal lover, the zoo is a must-visit place. This is a very small park but if you like animals then it is clearly worth it. The animals were well cared for and were all happy. We saw some close encounters with Icelandic wildlife – seals, reindeer, mink, Icelandic horses, a “blue” Arctic fox and some farm animals that were kept indoors for the winter along with some very cute critters. I recommend watching the seals being fed, they are quite entertaining. There are cafes and toilet facilities on site, and the prices are not as expensive as those in foreign zoos.
