In the afternoon, I headed to Samukawa Chuo Park for a little picnic under the trees. #FuriTabi Samukawa Shrine is a shrine located in Miyayama, Samukawa-cho, Koza-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is the Ichinomiya of Sagami Province. It is a Shikinaisha (shrine within the Imperial Court) and was formerly ranked as a Kokuhei-chusha (middle-ranking shrine). It is currently a beppyo shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines. It is one of the famous shrines in the Kanto region, and attracts approximately 2 million visitors per year. It is the second most visited shrine in Kanagawa Prefecture for New Year's worship, after Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine in Kamakura City. #thingstodo A nice wide open park with plenty of space for kids to run and play, picnicking, etc. Especially appealing during cherry blossom season in April. There is nice trail around the perimeter of the park that is very popular with joggers.
