Day 1 | Arrival in Lhasa Meet up This product includes a free pickup service Airport/station pick-up Free pickup service from airport/train station:Lhasa Gonggar International Airport, Lasa(Lhasa) Station Service period: All day (rideshare) If your location is outside the free pickup area, you will need to go to the meeting point yourself. If you have any questions, please contact customer support. Time Not SpecifiedTransportation No matter how you arrive in Lhasa, we'll have someone waiting for you — our pickup service runs 24 hours a day, whether you land at the airport or roll in by train. We recommend keeping your first day low-key and resting at the hotel rather than heading straight out, since this initial adjustment period matters most for travelers new to Tibet's altitude. To help your body acclimatize, stay hydrated, eat plenty of fruit, get a full night's sleep, and keep your mindset relaxed. It's best to avoid alcohol, smoking, and showering on your first night, as these can all worsen altitude sickness. That said, if you're feeling up to it after check-in, you're welcome to explore Lhasa on your own — just note that meals during this free time are at your own expense. A couple of notes on the changes: I softened "refrain from bathing" to "avoid showering," since that's the more natural English phrasing for the same advice (full baths aren't really the concern — it's hot showers affecting circulation at altitude). I also tied the alcohol/smoking/showering advice explicitly back to altitude sickness, since in the original it reads as a separate rule rather than part of the same acclimatization logic.
