The place was really busy but service was efficient and friendly.  Delicious Madeiran food with a modern twist and generous portions.  Will definitely return

I&#39;m always impressed by a restaurant where the staff give genuine advice and don&#39;t try to upsell. The Taberna Madeira specialises in sharing plates and we asked how many dishes we would need. We were told one main and one side each would be enough and that was absolutely right.  The food is excellent and very good value. The restaurant is not on one of the main tourist streets and there are no outside tables, but it more than makes up for it with friendly service, great food and drink, pleasant ambience and value for money.

Very busy and we did feel a little rushed. However, we said straight away that we would go back again as good value food and wine.

The staff were so friendly and the service excellent.The food was first class and beautifully presented.Inside the decor was classy and noise level low.

Food has always been good at La Pasta and today was no exception.  Pizzas lovely, thin and crusty, and pasta excellent.  Jug of sangria goes down a treat on a hot day.

Lovely evening after the Flower Festival parade, we arrived earlier than our booked time and were easily accommodated. Food great although a special menu for day. day. Staff interaction was great. Thank you!

I highly recommend trying the pistachio tiramisu.We booked a table for lunch, specifically to try the lunch menu advertised at &euro;18 (including starter, main course, drink, and dessert). However, when we arrived at our reserved time (16:30), we were informed that the lunch menu is only available from 12:00 to 15:00. This was not mentioned anywhere on the website, and our reservation time was still marked as &ldquo;lunch&rdquo; during booking.From 15:00 to 17:00, only the brunch menu (mainly egg dishes) is available. The manager was helpful and allowed us to order from the evening menu instead. The food was delicious, but the main courses were noticeably more expensive than the lunch menu.Overall, we had a good experience and appreciated the staff&rsquo;s flexibility, but clearer information about menu availability on the website would be helpful, as we specifically chose this restaurant for the lunch menu and its value.

I booked the restaurant because it was recommended in my guide and I am glad I did. Despite being busy, the service was very quick, and they even offered us a little Thai soup when our samosas took longer than expected. The food smelled and tasted absolutely delicious. Highly recommend but make sure you book a table as it was full.

Very nice Indian food. Really good quality, nicely spiced as Indian food should be. Very well priced. Location in the old part of Funchal, very nice
