Introduction Fall Leaves Viewing in Hakone

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate

Hakone is a great place to enjoy the autumn leaves in Japan, and the best time to enjoy the leaves is from October to November. When you step into Hakone, you feel like you are in a colorful dream world.

Around the Choanji Temple, tall maple trees surround the ancient temple, and the red leaves and the quaint buildings complement each other. When the autumn wind blows, the red leaves fall, either piling up on the stone steps or falling on the eaves and ponds of the temple, adding a bit of poetry and tranquility to the ancient temple. On the shore of Lake Ashi, the red leaves spread along the lakeshore. The fiery red and orange leaves are reflected in the clear lake water, forming a beautiful picture with Mount Fuji in the distance and the swaying boats on the lake.

Appreciating the red leaves in Hakone not only allows you to appreciate the beauty of nature, but also to experience the unique Japanese style and start an unforgettable autumn journey.

🥚🏔️ 2D1N Hakone Itinerary ♨️🚢🚠

🏠 Hotale: Yamadaya Ryokan - Affordable ryokan with very comfortable futon (Had the best sleep here!) and delicious meals served to your room in the evening and morning - Traditional natural hot springs (onsen) and authentic washoku meals (dinner and breakfast included) 🍱 ⚠️ The onsen is separated by gender, BUT check the schedule as the onsen alternates. A sign outside will indicate the swap times, allowing both genders to enjoy all the onsen facilities at different timings (e.g Male can try Female onsen at X timing and vice versa) - You’ll also be provided with a yukata (light kimono), making it easy to enjoy the onsen experience in true Japanese style 👘 - Spend your time relaxing in a tatami room, soaking in the hot springs, and leaving all your worries behind 😌 🗺️ 2D1N Itinerary 🌋 Owakudani (Hell Valley) - A volcanic valley filled with steaming vents and sulfuric landscapes. Be prepared for the smell of sulphur! - 🥚TRY the famous Kurotamago (Black Eggs): legend has it they’ll add 7 years to your life! ⛩️ Hakone Jinja Shrine - Known for its stunning Torii gate (Heiwa no Torii) on Lake Ashinoko ⚠️ The queue for photos can be long (around 1 hour), but the serene atmosphere, moss-covered trees and beautiful views is WORTH IT! 🗻 Lake Ashinoko - A peaceful lake offering picturesque views of mountains and greeneries. ⚠️ You’ll be lucky to spot Mount Fuji in the background (subject to good weather) ⚠️ Pro Tip: Get the Hakone Free Pass, which covers all transportation in Hakone and a round-trip from Shinjuku to Hakone. It’s a great value for exploring the area with ease! ⚠️ Travel Time: The trip from Shinjuku to Hakone takes around 3 hours one way, so if you’re pressed for time, consider visiting Kawaguchiko as an alternative ⚠️ Consider packing light or leaving your large luggage in a locker in Tokyo if you’re visiting Hakone for a short stay, as you’ll be traveling and moving a lot on foot #100waysoftravel #japan #hakone #japanitinerary

I have stayed here four times during my visits to Hakone, and it has been a wonderful experience

Hakone Fufu is where I chose to stay for my fourth visit to Hakone. I have previously stayed at Mizunoto, Setsugetsuka, and Kowakien Ten-yu. Here is my summary (with the years I stayed in parentheses): Kowakien Ten-yu (2017) > Fufu (2023) > Setsugetsuka (2015) > Mizunoto (2014) Today, I waited for over an hour at Gora Station, and the phone number on Fufu's official website was wrong. It was also a long wait for a taxi to arrive; I was quite desperate. I had contacted the hotel in advance to inquire about the shuttle bus, but the staff did not mention that the shuttle bus needed to be reserved in advance. That was really frustrating. Now, let me talk about the hotel itself. I booked the Deluxe Suite, and the room was quite new, with a nice private bath and a large balcony. There was an odd smell of disinfectant in the room, and I'm not sure if it was the smell of the hot springs. There are hardly any public areas, and the public hot spring was a disappointment. The public hot springs at other Hakone hot spring hotels I've stayed at were usually outdoor, but this one was more like an indoor spa that you might find in a city hotel, with only a small area. One night was enough; I originally booked two nights but luckily canceled one. After checking out: We booked a plan that included breakfast and dinner, and the meals were quite good. When we wanted to leave, we were told that it was impossible to get a taxi at that time. However, when we arrived at Gora Station, we found that there were actually plenty of taxis available. Overall, it was really good 😊🍎 And the food inside was overall very tasty 😊

Epic views

#japantrip The kind of incredible views of Mount Fuji, that are possible from Hakone national park. That alone is a reason big enough to visit Hakone. Then again that is merely one of the many reasons. The hot springs, gardens, museums, heritage and cuisine are all very satisfying and ensure your Hakone trip stays memorable. A clear day can turn around your Mount Fuji memories. Hakone is particularly beautiful during sakura cherry blossom season and the autumn months, when the leaves turn rich reds and oranges. If you're visiting Japan during summer, you can also climb Mount Fuji between July and September. All of Hakone is quite laid back and culturally rich. There is abundant nature. Planning a trip here is not that difficult. Especially know that you are a little more than 100 kms from tokyo. And that you could explore at your leisure and recline in the mineral-rich waters of onsen baths.#japantrip #hakone #epicviews #mountfuji

STUNNING sights in my first trip to 🇯🇵!

STUNNING sights in my first trip to 🇯🇵!

#fallishere I am so thankful to be warmly greeted by Japan and manage to capture these beautiful sights in Hakone and Tokyo. Prior to my trip, my friends told me that not everyone would be lucky to catch a clear view of Mount Fuji from Japan, which I agree and recommend to stay in Hakone for at least three days and two nights especially if one does not get to drive around to catch the different views of Mount Fuji. During my stay, I observed that the view would be clearer in mornings through the live viewing on YouTube, so I reached Lake Kawaguchiko as early as 9 am (GMT+9). As evident by the picture, Mount Fuji was majestic and pretty with the lake. A major tip to all who wish to catch the Hakone Shrine with minimal crowd: please reach there as early as 8+ am (GMT+9), though the lighting may not be as good because of where the sun is. Absorb the serenity and visit the temple nearby too! The area covering Gotemba Premium Outlets is huge, which I suggest catering at least three hours here if one would like to explore the stores and have a meal here. The view of Mount Fuji was less obvious during afternoon and evening during my stay in Hakone, but against the sun-setting backdrop, it was another feast to the eyes. My virgin experience in Japan has been nothing but wonderful; I am booking my next trip soon in 2024!
