Visiting Angkor Wat was an unforgettable experience. I was deeply impressed by the intricate details of the grand architecture and the complex inscriptions that adorned the temple. My tour started early in the morning to catch the sunrise behind the temple, which added a special charm to the scene. She explored other temples in the area, such as Bayon, famous for its giant faces. The trip was filled with history and culture as I learned about the Khmer civilization and its influence. Moving between temples through dense trees was fun, and I discovered the unique charm of each temple. Angkor Wat is truly one of the world's wonders worth visiting.

Horseback Riding

One of the best things we did in Siem Reap is Horseback Riding. It was our first time, so we are nervous and feels intense about it. The tour guides were so helpful, chill, and supportive and they are also well trained in taking care or the horses. We tour the city of Siem Reap for 1 hour and it was all worth it. We had a meaning conversation with the tour guide, it helps us calm while riding the horse. It was an unforgettable experience as a couple and Happy Ranch Horse Farm made it possible. More than two million tourists visit it every year. Angkor Wat was and remains the greatest temple in the world. Now anyone can touch the history and visit this amazing place. In fact, there are a lot of mysteries and riddles in this place. Some people believe that Angkor Wat was built on the remains of more ancient ruined buildings that have nothing to do with the Khmer. Here are several secrets that Angkor Wat keeps. 1. 320 temples of Angkor Wat correspond to the location of visible stars in the northern hemisphere of the sky, and 15 main temples of Angkor exactly repeat the location of the stars from the constellation of the Dragon. There is a theory that the ancient builders looked at the stars, and made such an exact location, 2. In the very center of the main temple there is a square perfectly aligned and exactly coinciding with the four cardinal directions. The ceiling in the temple also points to the northeast, northwest, southeast, and southwest. All eight perfectly aligned lines meet on the ceiling exactly in the center of the temple, right above the square on the floor. 3. The past has left us a negligible amount of written evidence related to the history of the construction of temples in Angkor. And just to visually inspect all the sights, of those that are now found, an ordinary tourist will not have enough for a week. The reasons why the Khmers left the largest city at the mercy of the jungle about 500 years ago and left these lands are still unknown. In the 1300s, it was one of the largest cities in the world, perhaps even the largest, with up to 1 million people living in it. 4. Angkor is also called the city of the gods. Surprisingly, Khmer temples were never intended for gatherings of believers. They were built precisely as the dwelling place of the gods. 5. Each intricate carving on the walls was covered with gold sheets. To this day, you can still see a few golden spots if you look closely enough. Only recently, some of the 1796 carvings have been restored. 6. Angkor Wat has many correspondences in numbers. There are a total of 108 towers in the shape of lotus buds, a sacred number for both Hindi and Buddhists. According to Hinduism, man has an immortal soul that can roam the worlds. The three levels of the temple symbolize these worlds: lower, middle and higher.The layout of Angkor Wat reflects the Hindu cosmos itself and represents one large sacred mandala. 7. According to the Hindu cycle of development or the cosmic cycle, humanity goes through four stages: 1,728,000 years – the Age of dawn (Golden Age); 1,296,000 years – the era of stagnation; 864,000 years - the age of dusk; 432,000 years – the era of decline. In Angkor Wat, roads are built exactly according to these cycles - 1728, 1296, 864 and 432 huts (1 hut is equal to 0.5 meters).

Truly the experience of a lifetime! We took a tour to see the sunrise over the temple and it was truly an amazing site. Almost the entire temple complex is open to be explored. You can visit the first, second, and the top levels of the temple. It was originally built as a Hindu Temple and was later converted into a Buddhist temple. Tons of history at the site. Beautiful carvings in the walls.

Exploring the Vast Angkor Wat

The site is incredibly vast, and due to flight issues, I only purchased a one-day ticket to explore the small circuit. There weren't many people, and some smaller attractions were even empty. There were few Chinese visitors; most were from Western countries, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia. Before arriving, I didn't understand why renting a motorcycle was necessary, but now I do. The area is too large and beautiful to explore on foot! The recent weather has been pleasant—not hot, with a cool breeze. I was lucky not to encounter high temperatures, just a bit of sweat. It's perfect for a group of friends to ride motorcycles and enjoy the scenery. Angkor Wat, I'll definitely visit again! #AngkorWat #Travel #CambodiaTrip
