2025 Auckland Central Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in July)

📅 Itinerary Day1：Flew from Singapore to Auckland via Malaysian Airline. Reached. After exiting the immigration, looked for bus/coach ride signage as guide. Took Skyride, Airport shuttle to CBD for only NZD20. Paid directly to driver and boarded the coach. Stayed at YMCA CBD thus it’s a 5mins walk from the SkyTower drop off point. Day2: Enjoyed a simple breakfast buffet at YMCA for NZD10 and head to Sky Tower and did some shopping at the CBD area. In the afternoon, head for Harbour area to check on the area and restaurants. Day3: Booked a guided tour to Hobbiton & Waitomo Caves. Tour started early at 6.30am with pick up at your hotel near CBD. The tour includes simple lunch with drinks. Ended at about 5:30pm and took a warm shower and rest before heading for dinner 🏨 Accommodation YMCA at 20 Pitt Road. 🍴 Food Recommendations Timeless Taste of China 中国故事. Do encourage you guys to try these Chinese Cafe. Check on their IG and website for menu. I chose the Chef recommendation brised beef tendons (Hugh portion) for only nzd38 and the mayonnaise prawn wrapped in golden wires w and 山楂片糯米饭 and an egg tart. Location at 113 Mayoral Drive CBD Auckland. The meal cost about $60. By the way, average meal in any cafe or restaurant will cost you about $15-20 in Auckland. 📌 Tips Save money by taking Airport shuttle if u are staying within CBD area and choose a single private room with shared bathroom if u don’t mind and channel the money to food and paying for tourist attractions.

Auckland is New Zealand’s capital city and its biggest population center, it has a long history of a hub and this is seen through the rapid and varied development of the CBD. Having escaped destruction from war or natural disasters the city offers buildings and districts from various eras in time, especially on the main Queen street. The main shopping street leads to the waterfront where you find the main railway and ferry terminals, both stunning buildings over 100 years old. Queen street itself is lined with beautiful art deco buildings that used to house the many department stores that dominated in their day. With the boom of the 1990s there has been various new landmarks added like the glass skyscrapers and of course the sky tower - Auckland’s main landmark. Be sure to check out the smaller side streets that span off the main shopping street as they have many coffee shops, charity shops and independent fashion stores. I took a side street for a moment and came across Albert Park. It was a peaceful space where I could relax and enjoy the beauty of nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city~🏕 Walking along Queens Street was not just a simple tour, but an experience where I could feel Auckland's vibrant culture and lively city charm with my whole body.
