Sichuan Anyue Huangjue Great Buddha Cliffside Statues

The Great Buddha is a seated Maitreya statue carved into a high rock wall. The statue is 16 meters tall, with a head height of 4.2 meters, a topknot diameter of 20 centimeters, and is seated cross-legged on a 5-meter-high lotus pedestal. The face is round and full, with a dignified and kind expression, wearing a shoulder-length kasaya with a thin inner robe. The statue is simple and elegant, with strong and smooth lines, inspiring awe. To protect it from wind and rain erosion, the ancients built a rock pavilion around it, with the Great Buddha sitting in the pavilion, which is well preserved.
