Wat Bang Phrom, a beautiful temple on the riverside

Wat Bang Phrom is located in Bang Chang Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province. Wat Bang Phrom was established as a temple in 2325 BE. According to legend, a member of the royal family bought about 6 rai of land to build a temple and named it "Wat Bang Phrom" after the mouth of Khlong Bang Phrom on the bank of the Mae Klong River during the time when Luang Pho Klat was the abbot. Later, it received the royal charter of the boundary markers in 2350 BE. During the time when Luang Pho Daeng and Luang Pho Rung were the abbots of the temple, the temple was developed and became very prosperous. What you must not miss is paying homage to "Phra Phuttha Mongkhon Phromrangsi", a Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, U Thong art style, carved from red sandstone into pieces and assembled with gold leaf. It is believed to have been built during the reign of King Prasat Thong. It is the principal Buddha statue enshrined in the ordination hall. Another important point of the temple is paying homage to "Luang Pho Pu Bang Phrom", a Buddha statue in royal attire. It is located at the back of the chapel.
