Beijing's Great Wall: A Thrilling Experience Even for the Lazy!

The Mutianyu Great Wall was first built during the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1368) under the supervision of Xu Da on the site of the Northern Qi Great Wall. It was later extensively renovated by Qi Jiguang during the Longqing reign, resulting in its current scale. The existing wall is one of the best-preserved sections of the Ming Great Wall in China, showcasing both military defense and architectural aesthetics. 1. Zhengguan Terrace: Composed of three hollow watchtowers standing side by side, with gates on both sides forming a rare "double-door" structure on the Great Wall. 2. Double-sided Battlements: Designed for both defense and observation, the outer battlements feature serrated edges, and the shooting holes are semi-circular square openings to enhance shooting accuracy. 3. Dense Watchtowers: Within 500 meters, there are 4 watchtowers, and within 3,000 meters, there are 25 watchtowers spaced just 100 meters apart, creating a tight defense system.
