Staying on Matira Beach, one of the most stunning public beaches in the world, was a dream come true. The soft, white sand and crystal-clear water were perfect for swimming and snorkeling. While there’s no direct entrance fee to the island, excursions like lagoon tours or jet-skiing adventures range from $100-$200 per person. I highly recommend a snorkel tour to see the colorful coral reefs and swim with rays and reef sharks—it’s unforgettable! For a cultural experience, I visited the local villages and markets to sample fresh fruit and purchase handcrafted pareos. Nearby, Mount Otemanu is a must-see. You can take a 4x4 tour or a boat trip around the base, and the views are jaw-dropping. Bora Bora is also known for romantic sunset cruises, and watching the sun dip into the lagoon was magical.
