It is the Old State House, and it is also one of the most important landmarks in American history. It was the center of the colonial government in the 18th century and the site of many important events of the American Revolution. Although it is not large and luxurious in appearance, walking in is like opening a living history book. As soon as I walked into the museum, I was immediately attracted by the log stairs, ancient walls and rooms full of historical paintings. There are political documents of the year, daily necessities of the colonial period, and newspapers and weapons on the eve of the revolution. What impressed me most was a room that simulated the parliament hall. When visiting, you can sit on the wooden chairs of the members and feel the atmosphere of people discussing freedom and taxation at that time. The most famous history here is the "Boston Massacre" in 1770. Right in front of the building, the British army shot at unarmed colonists, killing five people and arousing dissatisfaction throughout the colony. There is still a circular monument on the floor in front of the door, reminding people of this tragedy that changed American history. Looking out from the second-floor window, facing the square where the incident took place, you can also see the streetscape of the modern city of Boston. History and modernity are intertwined here, which feels very special. The guide tells the story in very simple language, so even if you are not familiar with history, you can easily understand it, which makes me more involved.
