🌉 The canals are what you remember first. Still as glass, reflecting pointed gables and old brick 🧱 Walking along them felt like moving through a storybook, but slower, like the pages turn themselves. 🍫 A tiny chocolate shop near Wollestraat, where the owner spoke softly and let us try slivers of praline on a silver tray. Didn’t buy much. Should have. The scent of melted cocoa hung in the air like something sacred. 🕍 The Belfry in Markt Square, tall, a little crooked, and watching over everything. Climbed it, eventually. Narrow stairs, heavy steps, but the view? Worth every heartbeat 💯 🕯️ Basilica of the Holy Blood, tucked into a quiet corner. Dim and gold and strangely peaceful. Didn’t expect to feel something there, but did anyway. 🥖 Lunch on a bench, not a restaurant. Just bread, cheese 🧀 and silence. Horses 🐎 passed by pulling carriages like we’d slipped back a few centuries. Nobody rushed. 🌙 At night, the city dims itself on purpose. Soft lighting ✨ amber shadows, reflections everywhere.
