Review of the 5th Floor of Busan 40 Steps Cultural Center

The permanent exhibition hall on the 5th floor of the Busan 40 Steps Cultural Center offers a glimpse into the lives of refugees around the 40 Steps area in the 1950s through various formats. Located within a community center, the exhibition program and scale may feel somewhat simple compared to professional museums. Guides are present on-site to kindly assist first-time visitors with explanations. Admission is free, and even if you take your time, you can explore the entire area in about 10 to 20 minutes due to its compact size. Outside the cultural center, you can find the actual 40 Steps street, surrounding sculptures, and themed streets. It’s a recommended spot for taking photos, and it’s conveniently accessible, being just a 5-minute walk from Exit 11 of Jungang Station.
