Exploring the Ancient Dwellings of Miaoqian Town

Discovering Traces of History: The ancient dwellings of Zhongtian Village were first built in the second year of the Yongle era (1404), dating back over 600 years. They represent the largest and best-preserved complex of Ming and Qing dynasty ancient architecture in Hengyang City and Hunan Province. Despite centuries of weathering, the site still retains over 100 old houses, more than 200 courtyards, 108 alleys, covering a construction area of 14,000 square meters. These dwellings showcase both the architectural characteristics of Jiangnan-style residences and unique artistic features. Currently under protective renovation, the ancient dwellings are expected to become even more beautiful upon completion.
