Changshan County, under the jurisdiction of Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the southwestern part of Zhejiang Province, the western part of the Jinqu Basin, and the upper reaches of the Qiantang River. It is bordered by Qujiang District to the east, Jiangshan City to the south, Yushan County of Jiangxi Province to the southwest, Kaihua County to the northwest, and Chun'an County of Hangzhou City to the northeast. The county government is located at No. 29 Shengli Street, Tianma Sub-district. The total area of the county is 1,099 square kilometers. The county was established in the 23rd year of Jian'an during the Eastern Han Dynasty (218 AD), originally named Dingyang; in the fifth year of Xianheng during the Tang Dynasty (674 AD), Changshan County was established on the original land of Dingyang County because the county seat was located to the south of Changshan (also known as Longshan, now called Hushan), and the name Changshan County has been used since then; Changshan County is rich in mineral resources, with 38 kinds of mineral resources discovered, among which the reserves and grades of limestone, stone coal, and fluorite are the highest in Zhejiang Province.
