Chengde 2 Days Itinerary

Day 1 – Mountain Resort Dedicate the whole day to visiting the resort. Start with the imperial palace and gardens. Then hike up the hills inside the resort – this is where you’ll see deer and get the best panoramic view of the Putuo Zongcheng Temple (also called the “Mini Potala”). After the hike, continue exploring the lakes, pavilions, and bridges. The resort is large and worth discovering at a relaxed pace. ⸻ Day 2 – Imperial Temples near the Resort Start with the Putuo Zongcheng Temple, inspired by Lhasa’s Potala Palace. It’s built on a hill with many steps, but the view and Tibetan-style architecture make it worthwhile. Next, visit Puning Temple, home to the world’s largest wooden statue of the goddess Guanyin. It’s an active Buddhist temple with a peaceful vibe.
