Wat Phan Tao – The Charm of Teak in Chiang Mai

#VisitChiangMai ⸻ I had the opportunity to visit Wat Phan Tao, which is located not far from Wat Chedi Luang in the heart of Chiang Mai's moat. When I entered, I saw that the atmosphere of this temple is different from other temples because the entire building is made of teak wood, giving a warm and solemn feeling at the same time. We walked around the temple and then went to pay homage to the Buddha statue in the chapel, which is a golden teak chapel built since the Mangrai Dynasty. Inside the chapel, the atmosphere is quiet. The sunlight shines through the wood patterns, making it feel very calm and peaceful. 🌿 The name of the temple "Phan Tao" comes from the word "Phan Tao Ruean Luang". It used to be a royal palace or house of the Lanna king before being changed to a temple later. Therefore, the structure and architecture still have the atmosphere of the royal court. If anyone has the opportunity to visit Chiang Mai, I would like to recommend stopping by here. Even though it is a small temple, it is very charming, especially if you come in the evening.
