Magical Chichen Itza

I can only describe Chichen Itza in one word: wow. This historical site in Yucatan, Mexico is simply breathtaking. It is known around the world for its majestic pyramid, but there is much more to explore. You can easily visit the site on your own by taking a bus from Cancun, Playa del Carmen or Tulum where most tourists usually stay Getting there will take around two and a half hours. But there are also many day tours organized for roughly 40 dollars including entrance to the site. The actual archeological site is huge, and you can't possibly see it all, so focus on the highlights.
