Temple of Hathor｜A Testimony of Ramses II's Love

In ancient Egyptian history, it was rare for a pharaoh to build a temple for a 'queen.' The last one to enjoy this privilege was the famous Nefertiti. Compared to the great temple, the small temple appears more gentle and elegant. In the six statues of the Temple of Hathor, the queen and the pharaoh are of equal height, which is very unusual because, in ancient Egyptian history, the queen's statue would at most reach the pharaoh's knees. Clearly, this rule was broken here, showing how much Ramses II loved this queen...
