The ancient town of Xixi at dusk

Located in Dongtai City, the ancient town of Xixi was once a major collection site for salt tax in history. During the Northern Song Dynasty, three famous prime ministers, Lu Yijian, Yan Shu, and Fan Zhongyan, had all served as salt tax officials in Xixi of Taizhou. Now, through the development and construction of tourism projects, it has formed 'three districts and one garden,' namely the 'Pear Wood Street' antique commercial cultural street recreation area, the 'Taishan Temple' religious cultural tourism area, the 'Salt Culture' Three Sages Temple tourism area, and the 'Heaven on Earth' theme park. Dongtai City also focuses on the excavation and protection of Xixi's cultural resources, collecting and organizing historical relics, legends, poetry, Buddhism, antiques, etc., presenting a new vista of Xixi tourism. Especially in the evening when the lights are first lit, it is very beautiful against the blue sky, and the Huguo Zen Temple, also known as Taishan Temple, is majestic and imposing with the bell tolling at dusk and the drum ceasing as the lights shine, a grand spectacle that has stood for a thousand years. Xixi ancient town is also a city that never sleeps, not only with cultural street performances but also with three performances of the 'Fairy Romance' situational drama every night, offering travel groups an additional feast for the eyes.
