Dujiangyan | Where to take pretty photos even in horrible weather

If the sky turns grey and the rain refuses to stop, don’t worry—Dujiangyan still has plenty of places that look beautiful in bad weather. Tips on taking photos in gloomy weather is to avoid capturing the sky and finding colours that stand out. Staying indoor is a great option. The indoor lighting is soft and if you find a spot with fresh flowers, they make the perfect background. Add a cup of tea and a good angle, and your photos will still glow—even without sunshine. （ Photo 1 is taken at 太平张醪糟(西街直营店) second floor, my favourite dessert place that sells fermented sweet rice wine with rice dumplings ) Another great option is to head into the mountains. Mount Qingcheng and Mount Yulei both stay stunning no matter the weather. The mountain trails are completely covered in green, with thick trees and layers of mist that blur out the grey skies so the weather does not affect your photos anymore. (Photo 3-5 is taken at the back mountain of Mount Qingcheng) Mount Yulei and the front mountain of Mount Qingcheng have ancient buildings great for pictures. The buildings and stone walkways have so much character, and the cloudy weather only adds to the mood. ( Photo 6 is taken on Mount Yulei, Mount Yulei is closer and easier to climb compared to Mount Qingcheng, but sometimes there’s more tuorist) So if the weather looks bad—don’t cancel your plans.
