Triton Fountain and Piazza

A dramatic and popular landmark right at the entrance to the capital city of of Malta, Valletta. The Titan fountain was constructed in the late 1950s, and was designed to complement the old original entrance to Valletta, which was subsequently demolished in 1964. It had to go undergo extensive repairs in 1978 when it collapsed. Until very recently the area immediately around the Titan fountain was the main bus terminal. In 2018 the bus terminal was shifted further south and the whole area around the fountain was turned into a piazza. #celebrateit #malta #mediterranean #fountain
