Shizuoka's Lake Motosu: A serene journey with reflections of Mount Fuji

Among all the places I visited during my trip to Shizuoka, **Lake Motosu (本栖湖)** left the deepest impression on me. On clear mornings with little to no wind, I witnessed the breathtaking **Sakasa Fuji (逆さ富士)**—Mount Fuji reflected on the lake's surface like a mirror. Words cannot describe the emotional impact of that moment. Interestingly, this very scene is depicted on the back of Japan's 1,000-yen bill, making the experience even more special. The lakeside features camping grounds where visitors can set up tents and relax. Many people were enjoying activities like kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). The water is crystal clear and refreshingly cold, making it perfect for dipping your feet in during summer to cool off and rejuvenate. For those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and find a peaceful retreat, I highly recommend this spot. Lake Motosu is the perfect place to quietly admire Mount Fuji in all its beauty.
