Kuixing Tower: A historical watcher through time

#AprilGoodDestinations2025 At the intersection of the southeastern city wall of Fuyang Old Town, stands quietly an ancient building that has gone through vicissitudes of life but has become more and more solemn - Kuixing Tower. This tower was originally a watchtower built by the prefect Zhao Shixiang in the second year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1574) to expand the south city. It was rebuilt in the ninth year of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1870). It is said that one can see Huoshan Mountain from the tower on a sunny day, so the old county annals also call it "Wanghuo Tower". Although the Kuixing Tower has experienced hundreds of years of wind and rain erosion, it still stands tall and has become an important tourist attraction and historical and cultural symbol of Fuyang. Walking into Kuixing Tower is like walking into a distant history. The simple brick walls, exquisite carvings, and unique architectural style all exude the infinite charm of ancient architecture.
