The drive alone takes about 3 hours one way, making a same-day round trip extremely rushed and exhausting. Strongly recommend 🚗 self-driving travelers to stay near Yamu Lake at the mountain's base the night before. Enjoy a meal, get a good night's sleep, and set off the next morning. From your lodging to Wawu Mountain Scenic Area, it's just a 20-minute drive—relaxed and stress-free. 💫 **Scenic Area Overview: Well-Equipped & Family-Friendly** Wawu Mountain's facilities and trails are well-built and maintained, making it suitable for visitors of all ages and fitness levels. For leisure seekers like me who prefer a relaxed pace, I found a great route: about 3 hours of hiking and sightseeing, covering roughly 7 km, mostly downhill, making it very comfortable. 🎫 **Ticket Purchase Tip for Leisure Travelers** Important reminder for leisure travelers: Be sure to buy the "round-trip cable car" ticket package! The scenic area has two cable car sections: Jinhua Bridge to Gufo Ping, and Gufo Ping to the summit. These cable rides are perfect for saving energy and enjoying the views—don’t skip them to save money. 🏃‍♂️ **My Light Hiking Route Breakdown** Here’s the leisure-friendly route I took for reference: ① **Upon arrival**, head straight to the "Jinhua Bridge" cable car station and take it up to "Gufo Ping." The views along this ride are already impressive. ② At "Gufo Ping," don’t linger too long—switch to the second cable car to the summit. Note: The Gufo Ping cable car has a "mid-station." If you’re aiming for an easy summit trip, ignore the mid-station and ride straight to the "upper station" at the top. ③ At the summit, take a breather before starting the real hike. Follow the signs for about 2 km to reach the breathtaking "Yuanyang Pool." The serene water and stunning surroundings make it a perfect photo spot! Depending on your energy and schedule, you can take a shuttle (¥10/person) from Yuanyang Pool to "Xiang'er Villa" for a short break or more sightseeing. 💪 **The Challenge Begins: Scenery & Stamina** From here, it’s mostly a one-way downhill trek (though you can turn back if needed, but you’d miss some of the best views!).
