Its formation is the reef coast of volcanic rock layers, which has been eroded by waves over the years, forming sea caves, sea trenches, potholes, sea platforms and other landforms, as well as rich marine ecology and algal reefs. Shimen Cave has three openings. A huge banyan tree grows at the upper opening, and the opening on the sea side is called the "March Cave" because of its shape that resembles a march car.
