Xingguo Temple Pagoda, a Major National Historical and Cultural Site

Take Bus No. 9 to Xingguo Park Station in Jiangyin City, and walk for a few minutes to reach the main gate of Xingguo Park. Admission to the park is free. The Xingguo Temple Pagoda inside the park was originally built during the Northern Song Dynasty's Taipingxingguo period (976–983). This area was the site of the Taipingxingguo Buddhist Temple (referred to as "Xingguo Temple"). The temple no longer exists, leaving only the Xingguo Temple Pagoda to tell its endless story of vicissitudes. The Xingguo Temple Pagoda is a pavilion-style brick and wood structure. The existing tower has eight levels, with a remaining height of 42m. The northeast corner of the sixth level is damaged, the seventh level still has three remaining sides, and only a section of the wall remains on the eighth level. The Xingguo Temple Pagoda has become a symbol of the ancient city of Jiangyin, a must-see attraction when visiting Jiangyin.
