Quick day trip to a sleepy town and Gorges of Hokitika

Day trip (no need to spend a night) from Franz Josef to Hokitika. Small town in West Coast of South New Zealand. First head to the Hokitika Gorge 40 minutes drive from city centre. Come and enjoy a leisurely 45 minute to one hour stroll through the beautiful West Coast rainforest tree tops. Walk through the spectacular 90m swing bridges as well as the viewing platform to enjoy the spectacular view of the blue water. Thereafter back to the main city centre to enjoy the fish and chips for lunch. Do choose the fish for the day and add on onion rings and top up all wild caught fish for the experience. The small cafe is just 50 steps away from the Intercity coach drop off point. After lunch take a leisure walk along Hokitika beach via the beach access and enjoy the mighty Tasman Sea. Heading back to Franz Josef and call it a day
