Famous Hokkien Mee

There are 2 Kim Lian Kee in Kuala Lumpur Chinatown, the store i mention is located at 320&324, Jalan Hang Lekir, 50000 Kuala Lumpur, a 350 meters 5 minutes walk Pasar Seni station. It is open from 6pm till late. Their old signboard still hangs at the original stall found in the 1920s. I had ordered their signature dish Hokkien Mee, deep fried salad tofu and a bottle of luo han guo drink. I love the slightly smoky taste of the black sauce blend enveloping the yellow noodles and the lard added another savoury sweet porky layer of flavour to the noodles. The deep fried tofu is quite nice, with the outer layer a bit crispy and inside is very soft. Kim Lian Kee has a well appointed, air conditioned restaurant branch just across the junction.
