The clock tower's resonant chimes evoke memories of Southwest Associated University's intellectual spirit during Republican China. The historic Huize Hall still stands, its red bricks and blue tiles holding countless academic legends. 3️⃣ Nie Er's Tomb The musical genius who composed China's national anthem rests among pines on Cui Lake's west shore. Visitors often place flowers by the circular pool before his statue, as if telling him "March of the Volunteers" still inspires millions. Breezes through dappled shadows seem to carry echoes of that stirring melody. 4️⃣ Lu Han's Mansion This French-style villa's terrace once offered Kunming's finest views. Here General Lu Han made crucial decisions for Yunnan's peaceful liberation. The mansion, embraced by greenery, retains Republican-era modernity in its colorful floor tiles and fan-shaped window lattices. Early summer paints Cui Lake at its most charming - lotus leaves unfurling, black-headed gulls dancing on water.
