Astro Café Tekapo: Sipping Coffee Above the Clouds☕️🍰

Astro Café at Mount John in Tekapo is my all-time favorite Cafe in New Zealand—I’ve been there four times already, each time with different friends, and it never gets old. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking, overlooking the vivid blue Lake Tekapo, the mountains, and the endless sky. No matter the season, it always feels magical. Each visit, I grab a hot coffee and a sweet treat from the café, then sit by the window or outside if it’s sunny. The peaceful vibe, fresh air, and sweeping 360° views make it the perfect place to relax and feel inspired. My friends always thank me for bringing them here! To get there, you can drive up the winding Mount John Observatory Road (small entry fee), or if you're up for a little adventure, hike the Mount John Track from town—about 1 to 1.5 hours uphill.
