[Shimane Matsue] A surviving Edo period castle

Matsue Castle, a national treasure in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, is a castle built during the Edo period. 🏯 The grounds of Matsue Castle are surrounded by a moat and can be explored by sightseeing boats. You have to climb up a few stairs to get to Matsue Castle. After passing through the last gate, there is a ticket booth where you can purchase a ticket to go up to the castle tower.
