#July Travel Support Fund Melbourne felt like a cultural space in itself. The first stop was Flinders Street Station, where the classic buildings and the modern Federation Square across the street created a landscape that showed the city’s individuality. As I walked down the downtown alley, Hosier Lane appeared. The colorful street art that filled the entire wall was impressive, and it was full of travelers taking pictures. The small cafes hidden in various alleys were also part of Melbourne’s charm. I took a break while drinking a flat white and could feel why this city is called the ‘City of Coffee.’ The State Library of Victoria had a truly beautiful dome-shaped reading room, and the Melbourne Museum allowed me to see the city’s history and culture at a glance. In the afternoon, I took a walk around the Yarra River and enjoyed the leisurely feeling in the city. The last stop of the trip was the sunset at St. Kilda Beach. The red light spreading across the ocean romantically ended the day.
